Laleh Abbassi received her DVM in Iran and then received her PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University in 2019. She completed her first postdoc at The Hospital for Sick Children and The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at the University of Toronto in neuro- and immuno- oncology. During this time, she became interested in studying the dynamics of the tumor immune microenvironment, and in particular, the bidirectional communication between cancer cells and tumor infiltrated macrophages and T cells.

Currently, Laleh is conducting her second postdoc in the Aguirre Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where her research is focused on the immunology of therapy-resistant and relapsed pancreatic cancer. Outside of the lab, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
