Patrick Bhola, PhD
Lead Scientist
Patrick is a Lead Scientist and head of the Laboratory for Functional Precision Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Trained as an engineer and holding a PhD in Life Sciences from the Rockefeller University, he leads a multidisciplinary research program dedicated to advancing functional precision medicine for solid tumors.
Patrick focuses on rapid ex vivo drug testing on diagnostic samples with the goal of guiding patient care, and on conducting ex vivo chemical screens using freshly extracted tumor specimens to develop new therapeutic strategies. By combining high-throughput, multiplexed imaging with machine learning, Patrick aims to develop novel treatment approaches and accelerate the translation of discoveries into clinical applications.
Outside the lab, Patrick enjoys baseball, basketball, and spending time with family.
