Ryan Collins

Ryan is the PI of the CGL and a member of the faculty at Dana-Farber, Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute. His long-term career goal is to unlock the potential of genomics to improve the prediction, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer and other diseases. Ryan completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer genetics at Dana-Farber under the mentorship of Eli Van Allen, Kevin Haigis, and Sasha Gusev. Prior to joining Dana-Farber, Ryan spent a decade in the Talkowski Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he developed new methods to analyze massive human genomic datasets, co-led the initial version of the Genome Aggregation Database [gnomAD], and led or contributed to dozens of genetic/genomic studies of myriad human diseases. Ryan holds an A.B. in Genetics from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D in Genomics from Harvard Medical School.
