Katrina grew up in Seattle, WA and graduated from University of Washington with a BSc in both Mathematics and Biochemistry. She pursued her PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Harvard University where she worked with Professor Eric Fischer in ubiquitin ligase biology and targeted protein degradation. During her PhD she explored conserved regulatory modes of HECT ubiquitin ligases, as well as genetic methods to redirect ligase activity. During her postdoc, Katrina aims to explore and advance protein design and structure prediction methods in relation to induced proximity.
