Our Research Environment
The Genovese Lab is part of a dynamic group of investigators in the Gene Therapy Program of the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, a joined initiative between the Division of Hematology/Oncology of the Boston Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatric Oncology of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This is one of the most extensive and long-running pediatric gene therapy programs in the world, featuring a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, researchers, clinical research coordinators, and program administrators. Because our team addresses the full spectrum of gene therapy, from basic research to clinical treatment, our program is continually at the forefront of gene therapy care. Since 2010, the Gene Therapy Program have treated more than 40 patients from 11 countries through 19 gene therapy clinical trials.
Our research community has a wide breadth of expertise in many areas of basic and translational immunology. We are highly interactive, share new developments at a weekly floor meeting and socialize at a Friday afternoon social hour. The department also have a weekly seminar series in Hematology/Oncology that is widely attended. Our state-of-the-art facilities allow investigation into novel immune mechanisms using cellular, molecular and systems-biology based approaches.
Friends of the Lab
We actively collaborates with researchers around the world who are interested in developing and applying genetic engineering tools in their work. Combining expertise and sharing tools and technologies helps us achieve greater possibilities. If you are interested in collaborating, please contact us.
