Varsha Subramanyam, BS

Varsha received her BS in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and a minor in Anthropology from UCLA in 2024. During her time at UCLA, she worked in the lab of Dr. Theodore Nowicki studying the role of TNFR2 (the TNF-a Receptor 2) in patient T-cells engineered to target melanoma cells. After graduating, she moved to Boston to join the Armstrong Lab, working with Dr. Heikamp to study the therapeutic targeting of NUP98-rearranged leukemia. Shortly thereafter, she followed Dr. Heikamp to help her begin her lab at Dana-Farber, which has been a rewarding experience and given much insight into the inner workings of a lab. She is excited to continue working on NUP98-rearranged leukemia as she applies to medical school this coming year!

Fun Fact: Varsha’s favorite candy bar is an Almond Joy, but she eats everything but the almond and throws it away.
