Shin Saito

Dr. Saito is a postdoctoral research fellow who joined the Oser laboratory in May of 2024. He did his first post-doc at Uppaluri lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where he explored the importance of dendritic cells in response to anti-PD-1 therapy in head and neck cancer. His current post-doctoral work is focused on 1. Understanding regulators of MHC class1 expression to explore possible therapeutic strategies in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and 2. Identifying resistance mechanisms against tarlatamab – a first-in-class bispecific T cell engager approved for SCLC in 2024, both by utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 screening methods. Shin is from Keio University in Japan where he trained as a general ENT/ head and neck surgeon. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, and eating sweet snacks.
