Anisha Rawal

Background: I am a current undergraduate student studying Biology and Business Administration with minors in Nutrition and Spanish for Healthcare on the Pre-Medical track at Northeastern University. I have been a curious individual all throughout my life and began conducting research at the age of 14 and since then, have never stopped. After exposing myself to a range of different research topics and types, I have a profound interest for translational research, and I know that Dr. Nilay Sethi and the members of the Sethi Lab will assist me in facilitating this.

Research Interests/Projects: I have done previous research in both oncology and neurodegenerative diseases where I have gained exposure to both wet and dry lab work. My most recent publications include a paper on Ductal Carcinoma in Situ in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, as well as a paper publication in the Olin Library at Washington University in St. Louis regarding the Prevalence of Breast Cancer in the Latinx Population. I have also written a systematic review on Racial Disparities in Parkinson's Disease alongside a MD/PhD student from Princeton University that is pending publication, and I am finishing up on a systematic review in the maternal health field at Massachusetts General Hospital. I have a particular drive for exploring the field of oncology and as a Celiac disease patient, I have a particular inclination for colorectal cancer research.

Fun Facts and Interests: I am a licensed Corepower Yoga Sculpt instructor and love fitness related activities in general such as running, long walks, and playing tennis. I spend a lot of my free time trying to turn popular glutenous recipes into gluten free equivalents whether that be through cooking or baking. I also love going out to dinner with my friends and spend a lot of time exploring the Boston food scene while using the Beli app.
