Supakrit Kositbovornchai
I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, and obtained my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. During my medical training, I actively engaged in medical research , including cell line experimentation within the Siriraj Systems Pharmacology unit, as well as projects aimed at improving medical education. Last year, I received the Prince Mahidol Youth Scholarship, which enables me to pursue my aspiration of becoming a surgeon-scientist. With a dedicated focus on cancer biology and translational research, my ultimate goal is to contribute to the advancement of cancer treatment and work toward a cancer-free world.

Interests:  My research interest focuses on cholangiocarcinoma, a devastating malignancy with an exceptionally high incidence in the northeastern region of Thailand. This significant public health challenge has inspired me to contribute to uncovering the complex biological mechanisms driving the disease. I have participated in research projects investigating its molecular pathogenesis, with the aim of identifying novel therapeutic targets and advancing the development of more effective treatment strategies. Notably, I was involved in experimental work related to SOX9, a transcription factor implicated in the progression of colon cancer, which further fueled my passion for cancer research. I aspire to become a surgeon-scientist who can bridge the gap between the laboratory and the clinic—translating scientific discoveries into innovative treatments and leading efforts to improve patient outcomes.

Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy staying active through various forms of exercise. I regularly play soccer, swim, and practice Thai boxing. Whenever time allows, I also love going hiking.
