I was born in Beijing, China. I came to the U.S. for an exchange program in New Jersey when I was 13 and have been here ever since. Before coming to Harvard for my PhD, I completed my undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. At Berkeley, I studied the positive selection of a mouse Qa1b-restricted T cell population. For my PhD, I am integrating basic immunology with cancer therapy research. I am currently interested in how immune cells become dysfunctional in tumors and how these mechanisms can be leveraged for novel immune therapies.
