Dorien Pastoors, PhD
Postdoctoral fellow
Dorien Pastoors is a postdoctoral fellow in the Tothova lab. She completed her PhD in 2025 and worked at Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, under supervision of Ruud Delwel. During her PhD, she studied enhancer- and transcription factor dysregulation in acute myeloid leukemia, focused on 3q26/MECOM rearrangements. She is from Groningen, the Netherlands and obtained her BSc. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Amsterdam University College (the Netherlands). She did her MSc. in Biomedical sciences at the University of Amsterdam and complemented this with courses from the MSc. Bioinformatics from the University of Amsterdam/Free University of Amsterdam. Outside of the lab, she loves to swim, bike, run, hike, cook, bake her own sourdough bread and cakes, and read.
