Jessica Behrendt is a Research Technician in the Viswanathan Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She earned a B.S. in Biology with Honors from Wake Forest University, graduating magna cum laude. As an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Allyn Howlett’s lab at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, she studied cannabinoid receptor signaling and protein-protein interactions in neuroblastoma models. Her honors thesis investigated how GPCR signaling pathways regulate cellular processes in neuroblastoma cells. Prior to this work, she conducted genomic research in Dr. James Pease’s lab, supporting genome-wide association studies through genomic data analysis. Her research interests focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development, cellular signaling, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.
